For many of our students and alumni, conferences are life changing opportunities to seek mentorship, engage in research, and participate in advocacy within the community.
With your help, CRNA students will have the resources to attend national conferences, present research via posters and podium talks, and develop valuable professional connections that shape their careers.
When I was a student, attending conferences like Diversity CRNA and CANA changed everything for me. They were turning points. I sat in rooms with diverse minorities, and first-generation CRNAs who looked like me and had walked paths like mine, and for the first time I saw what was truly possible. I learned new techniques at hands-on workshops, discovered advocacy and leadership I never knew existed, and — most importantly — met mentors who pulled me aside and said, "You belong here. Keep going."

As I transition into practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA), it would mean a great deal to see SMU NARs at these same conferences. Being able to meet them, offer support, answer questions, and be a resource as they move through their training would feel full circle for me.
