Stock Student Food Pantries
Help Us Mitigate Changes to CalFresh
SMU student food pantries assist students who qualify for CalFresh, California's implementation of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Every week around 80 - 100 SMU students select groceries and personal items from one of our food pantries to supplement their CalFresh benefits.
It costs $10 per student visit and roughly $900 per week to keep each of our pantries stocked.
As changes in federal funding take effect in a few weeks, our food pantries will become even more critical to students who may lose access to 50-100% of their CalFresh benefits.
Help us keep our food pantries stocked and close this critical gap for our students.
With your support, we will reach our goal of $14,400 and keep the food pantry stocked for the next four months.
