We Need Your Support
On April 12th, 2024, Samuel Merritt’s Occupational Therapy 2024/2025 cohort will take place in a crucial milestone of their academic journey, the white coat ceremony. This ceremony is an astounding achievement for OT students as it signifies their transition from the classroom to clinical practice. Funding for this ceremony is extremely limited, leaving the burden to pay for the experience on students. The white coat ceremony is funded and organized by students while simultaneously engaging a demanding full-time course schedule. Fundraising and donor support for this ceremony will allow the students to focus on their last didactic semester and be fully immersed in the significance of this event with friends and family rather than focusing on the cost and logistics of putting the event together.
Our Goal
The University provides the venue, and the OT Department provides the white coats. Our goal as students is to secure funds for catering, photography, and decorations essential for the success of the ceremony. All contributions will be used for the OT 2024/25 white coat ceremony. Should there be any surplus funds available once all expenses for the ceremony have been completed, they will be allocated toward supporting additional requirements of the cohort. With the generous support of friends, families, and support systems, our target is to raise $5,000.
